What is a betting unit, and why we report in units

Units are how bettors measure profit without revealing dollar amounts. Here's why we use them.

Jun 2026

A unit is one standard bet size. For a $20 bettor a unit is $20; for a $500 bettor it's $500.

Reporting in units is honest: win rate alone can lie, but units account for the odds of every bet.

It also scales to any bankroll, so the same record is meaningful to a $10 bettor and a $1,000 bettor.
